Media Coverup of UFO Sightings

An earlier article in this series The Spiritual Side of the UFO Phenomenon was published in a public forum http://www.examiner.com on the 20th of January, 2011.
In it, was the following statement:

The past six weeks have seen a spike in UFO sightings in the United States, according to an organization that tracks reports of unidentified flying objects.
The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) reports that there were 1,013 such sightings in August, up from an average of about 500 per month nationwide...
Note in the article above that there were over 1000 reported sightings in the month of August alone, and yet what was reported through the corporate-controlled mass media was almost nil.

Junction City, Ore.-- A flying saucer, a UFO, life from another planet? A Junction City man swears he saw some mysterious activity in the sky early Tuesday morning.
James Graybill says around midnight Monday night he saw 40-or-so bright lights of all colors flashing through the sky: blue, green, red of all shapes and sizes.
"They were all over the sky, and they were going west, and then when I started snapping pictures of them, the ones that went west went back east..."
Graybill says around 2:30 Tuesday morning he went inside because he was scared, not knowing what they were. He says his daughter also saw lights over Eugene's airport that night.

Live Science recently published an infographic showing the 10 states that have reported the most UFO sightings using data from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) in Seattle. I updated my MUFON spreadsheets for a recent article in order to analyze a spike in UFO sighting reports from this past August received by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON)...

October was a busy month for celebrity UFO sightings and, in a sign of the times, all of these sightings were tweeted. Even more surprising, a couple of the tweets included pictures of the alleged UFOs and two of the tweets were accompanied by tweets from other witnesses...
I believe it is high-time that the corporate-controlled mass media stop their usual practice of suppression and childish invalidation and ridicule of something which is of monumental importance to all the inhabitants of this planet, including themselves.
I believe it is high-time they begin taking responsibility for the effects they create, and began acting like the intelligent professionals they portray and regard themselves as.
I wonder...
Are there any media professionals left out there who still have the courage and integrity to stand up and honestly tell the truth, the whole truth, to the world without hiding their fear behind a covert smirk and ridicule, and without playing the usual game of pandering to the disinformation stooges?
It takes a strong and courageous being to stand up and tell the truth in the face of overwhelming pressure and ridicule from their peers.
Is there still such a person left within our corporate-controlled media establishment?
Or have the shades of night already dropped down too far?

Public opinion is heavily influenced by what the media reports. This has not escaped the notice of the CIA, who have been working actively to direct world opinion using global media outlets and reporters for decades.
...the CIA's Public Affairs Office... PAO relationships with reporters "from every major wire service, newspaper, news-weekly, and television network in the nation..."
