Disinformation, in its most elementary form, is simply the dissemination of lies; and its purpose is also stated just as succinctly - to hide a truth or truths.

Back in July of 1947, the military and government of the United States, and that of numerous other nations got duped and played by a superior force.   They were out-played by a secret group with a higher-level viewpoint, operating on a higher level and unseen gameboard.

The U.S. in particular was covertly maneuvered down a dark alley, and led to believe that an "invasion" by a technologically superior force from outside our solar system was imminent, and were frightened into asking for "help" with this "problem", and thus they, and eventually other governments of the world, signed an unholy agreement with the wrong party.

In exchange for signing, that "imminent threat" to highly-classified weapons programs was 'neutralized'.

Part of that agreement was to forever keep hidden what really went on.

Fortunately, I signed no such agreement...     this lifetime.

The very essence of counterintelligence relies heavily on misdirection and disinformation, and sadly, there are at present, a gret many groups and individuals who engage in this practice as routine, considering it merely part of their daily "job", or worse yet, as their "duty".

It takes a special kind of person however, to consistently engage in this practice, and when several of them get together, they often form into coordinated groups and teams, supporting and reinforcing each other's viewpoints and motivations, and thus making it all the more unlikely that they would ever view things any differently than they currently do.

If someone's basic purpose was to be honest and to tell the truth, they probably wouldn't be involved with a counterintelligence group or operation for very long. Only someone whose basic purpose is to deceive others could get along for any length of time within a group which specializes in that activity.

Someone who was basically honest would pay an extremely heavy price for consistently doing something which they knew was wrong; and finding themselves consistently lying and deceiving others, would probably grow to hate themselves and what they had become. They would surely cave themselves in and either destroy themselves, or, they would decide to "join the crowd" and become just as devious and dishonest as those around them.

This self-evident fact helps to explain why nothing ever seems to truly improve in Washington, despite all the rosy campaign promises we hear, time after time after time.

The primary goal of a counterintelligence group is to give a gullible audience something they will believe, and which will send them off in the wrong direction again, keeping the real truth hidden a bit longer.

If they are ever finally forced to admit to something (due to the actions of others exposing the truth), they will often be indignant and self-righteous and not show the slightest bit of remorse or regret for their years of suppression, deception, and lies, quite often claiming that they were doing it "for the good of others".

When finally held to count for their actions; knowing that the jig is up, that all other options have expired, and at long last feeling true fear of impending consequences; they may passionately plead for leniency and put on a good show claiming that they were "just following orders" or "just doing their job", but again, that would be just one more in a very long string of lies...

The real truth is that they were acting on and following one of their most basic, but consistently hidden impulses and purposes in life:

      deceiving others

A false purpose they have likely had for a very long time.

In the counterintelligence and disinformation world, compartmentalization and multiple lies are utilized to keep sensitive truths hidden, and the lie told at one level is usually different than the lie told at another.

Typically, the higher a person is within the organization, the closer that lie is to the truth, but it is a rare thing indeed for the REAL truth to ever be revealed by organizations and people who devote so much thought, energy, and effort to hiding and denying it.

Sometimes however, as the truth is slowly exposed by the diligent efforts of others, counterintelligence has to fall back to a secondary position, utilizing another lie which is a bit closer to the truth, and if the process of exposure continues they may be forced to fall back again to yet a third position and a third lie which is even closer to the truth, but they are not likely to ever admit the real truth and take responsibility for their actions, as that goes against their basic purpose.

This basic principle of layers of retreating lies can now be illustrated with some very clear examples from an important historical event – the crash and recovery activities near Roswell, New Mexico, in July of 1947.

Before the iron lid of silence and lies was dropped over the whole area, in an attempt to regain control of a counterintelligence nightmare quickly spreading out of their control, some true information was revealed:

RAAF Captures Flying Saucer
On Ranch in Roswell Region

No Details of Flying Disk Are Revealed

Roswell Hardware Man and Wife Report Disk Seen

The intelligence office of the 509th Bombardment group at Roswell Army Field announced at noon today, that the field has come into possession of a flying saucer.

According to information released by the department, over authority of Maj. J. A. Marcel, intelligence officer, the disk was recovered on a ranch in the Roswell vicinity, after an unidentified rancher had notified Sheriff Geo. Wilcox, here, that he had found the instrument on his premises.

Major Marcel and a detail from his department went to the ranch and recovered the disk, it was stated.

After the intelligence officer here had inspected the instrument it was flown to higher headquarters.

The intelligence office stated that no details of the saucer's construction or its appearance had been revealed...

Issued by Lt. Walter G. Haut, Roswell base public information officer, under direct orders of the base commander Col. William Blanchard, this story appeared in the afternoon edition of the Roswell Daily Record on July 8th, 1947, and was soon carried on the news wires around the world.

Shortly thereafter, once news of this press release reached certain ears, word came down, from way up the line, to pull that story and bury it.

With clean-up operations proceeding at the Foster ranch, Mac Brazel, who had spent the night at Walt Whitmore's house so he could go on the air in the morning, was picked-up by MPs, taken into custody, and taken back to the base where he was held under guard and interrogated (among other things).

Brig. Gen. Roger Ramey, his chief of staff, Col. Thomas J. Dubose, Maj. Jesse Marcel, and some of the crated debris from the Foster ranch flew back to Carswell AAF in Fort Worth, to prepare for a new press conference to be held later that same day.

Years later, Marcel told Walter Haut that he'd taken some of the debris into Ramey's office which he put on his desk for him when he returned. Upon his return, General Ramey wanted to see the exact location of the debris field, so he and Marcel went to the map room down the hall - but when they returned, the wreckage that had been placed on the desk was gone and a weather balloon was spread out on the floor.

At approximately 4:30 PM CST., Brig. General Roger Ramey, the commander of the 8th Air Force at Forth Worth, Texas, presented the reporters with the new cover story; a balloon with a foil radar target, and Marcel was ordered to pose for the photographers with the flimsy pieces of foil and balsa wood.

Mac Brazel, escorted by three guards from the base, arrives at radio station KGFL in town saying that he has come 'to set the record straight' and on the air says that what he found was NOT part of a flying disc.

Wednesday, 09 Jul 47:
The Roswell Daily Record published the new cover story given to them the previous day.

The weather balloon lie remained the flimsy public cover story for many years until, due to mounting pressure from eyewitnesses coming forward, books being written, television programs being aired, public demands for the truth and congressional inquiries, the Air Force issued its next lie in 1994, admitting that it wasn't really a weather balloon, but now claiming that it was a really secret balloon called Mogul.

Completely ignoring all of the painstakingly collected eyewitness testimony from both military and civilians alike (which of course was the only way it could have been written), it was instantly attacked and ridiculed, and the Air Force dug themselves in even deeper.

Quite a number of witnesses testified that they had seen small (3.5 to 4-foot [1 to 1.2m] tall) non-human bodies either at the crash sites, being transported, in a hangar, or being medically examined, so with public pressure continuing to mount, in June of 1997, a couple of weeks before the 50th anniversary of the event, the Air Force issued its third lie:

This time the excuse was that ALL of the eyewitnesses, military and civilian alike were confused and had somehow (all of them) stumbled upon 6-foot test dummies laying in the desert sand or watched them being retrieved by military personnel years later – in the mid to late 50s; and that this had somehow traumatized them so badly that they had confused it with recovery activities near Roswell in 1947.

For obvious reasons, this is sometimes referred to as the dummy's report.

The Air Force had ridden this dead horse about as far as they could, so the next cover story to emerge had to appear from a different point...

In 2005, a revised cover story emerged in a book by Nick Redfern entitled Body Snatchers in the Desert: The Horrible Truth at the Heart of the Roswell Story. In this latest version, it was a really REALLY secret balloon project, but this time, the bodies were real – human that is.

The cover story we were now asked to believe is that the bodies were those of handicapped Japanese prisoners, inside of a modified German Horten aircraft, suspended from a balloon array, being flown out of White Sands at midnight on the 4th of July during a thunderstorm, which was struck by lightning during this test flight, and crashed on the Foster ranch...   (whew).

Exopolitics Journal 1:1 (October 2005)   [excerpts]

"Redfern concludes that many stories about UFO crashes, meetings with extraterrestrials, and reverse engineering of extraterrestrial vehicles have as their origin clever disinformation stories orchestrated by experts in psychological warfare."

"The main sources of Redfern’s ambitious thesis are five alleged ‘whistleblowers’ giving different strands of a story he weaves together in his book."

"Another source is a former official from Defense Intelligence Agency, “the Colonel,” who claims to have been involved in spreading disinformation about crashed UFOs during the Cold War (98-118)."

"The two final whistleblowers, Bill Salter and Al Barker, who worked respectively in the Psychological Strategy Board and in the Army’s Psychological Warfare Unit (pp. 90-97). Both Salter and Barker contend that the PSB and other psychological warfare units used contrived stories of UFO crashes, alien bodies and underground bases to misinform the general public about the true events at White Sands and elsewhere. According to Salter and Barker, these UFO stories were used to cover more classified activities concerning the testing of nuclear powered aircraft using deformed Japanese victims."

"Three of them directly worked in psychological operations and disinformation with the DIA, the Psychological Strategy Board and the Army’s Center for Psychological Warfare. The possibility that they collaborated in spreading disinformation is very real given their former professions..."

So now the test dummies had evolved into disfigured human bodies and an advanced flying wing type aircraft was introduced – supported of course, by the Air Force's favorite: a balloon.

Once again however, we see continuing disinformation and lies apparently coming from the same source.

The latest cover story to emerge (that I am presently aware of) surfaced in May of this year in a book entitled Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base by Annie Jacobsen.

Ah, but this time, we're making progress – the craft was indeed a real UFO...   well...   real Russian.

In this latest cover story, given to Annie by a single anonymous source (I wonder if it was one of Nick Redfern's sources?), we are now asked to believe that the Horten brothers themselves, captured in Germany by Soviet troops at the end of the war, were made to produce a saucer-shaped hovercraft.

Then, none other than Josef Mengele himself was enlisted to create a crew of “grotesque, child-size aviators” in return for a eugenics laboratory, so he deformed children, aged 12 or 13 to accomplish this.

The round hovercraft with the deformed children inside was then to be remotely-piloted from a nearby aircraft, and was supposed to create panic and mass-hysteria when they landed, but it crashed instead...

On the Foster ranch in the middle of the New Mexico desert.

Well, there is one good thing about this latest cover story I suppose...

the clowns finally let go of their balloons.

Above we have seen the evolving cover story, with each new lie covering the last in the hope that the earlier lies will be forgotten and the new ones believed. However ALL of these cover stories are dependent upon keeping the audience's viewpoint restricted, and narrowly focused on one tiny area.

However once that tiny, restricted viewpoint is discarded and replaced with a much larger and wider one, the false cover stories dissolve into nothing, and many of the pieces begin clicking into place...
